Tell me about yourself!
I have been an avid traveler since I was young. Born and raised in Texas, my wanderlust began with many exciting road trips across the state and between state lines, which evolved into plane travel to destinations like Mexico and the Caribbean, and later to various countries and spending time in Europe. I am also passionate about mental health and have a background as a Licensed Mental Health Professional and Social Worker. I believe travel and well-being go hand in hand. I have previously been a Travel Advisor as well and fell in love with the UK after spending time there. Ultimately all of my interests aligned and led me to Sheenco Travel.
What’s your most memorable vacation?
My most memorable vacation would be spending Christmas and New Years (the “festive” period) in Scotland and England with my husband. It was the first time to spend the holidays abroad and experience the UK’s culture and festive traditions during this time. From Christmas in a Castle in Scotland, to clay pigeon shooting and countryside events, and being front and center to the London fireworks show at midnight, it was a trip to remember forever.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I am drawn to spending time with family, friends, and my dog Linus. I also love to plan travel whenever I can and am always seeing what the possibilities are. I enjoy spending time out in nature, the arts, and live music. I have been to several music festivals and would love to experience more of them.
Do you have a favorite place to visit?
My favorite city to visit in the US is hands down New Orleans, LA. I briefly lived in Louisiana and also got married in New Orleans. The history, culture, food, music, vibrancy, and resilience of this city is truly unique. Outside of the US there are many destinations that have been favorites such as Scotland, England, France, Italy, and Jamaica.
