Tell me about yourself!
I grew up in the beautiful seaside village of Crookhaven, down on the South-West coast of Ireland. My family owns a bar called O’Sullivan’s Bar and it has been in my family for 90 years. I have a certificate in Cultural and Heritage Studies from Cork College of FET, so I have a great love for history, and I am particularly fond of Irish history. I have worked in the hospitality industry for around 10 years and have gained a love for talking to and helping people. Despite coming from such a wonderful place, I have recently moved to America with my wonderful partner and have loved exploring this amazing country.
What was your most memorable vacation?
My most memorable vacation would have to be when I visited Zimbabwe with my mum and sister in 2015. Our cousin lives out there and she invited us to visit, and it was just spectacular! She brought us to go on safari where we got to feed elephants and see some beautiful animals. We also had an opportunity to spend a few days on a boat house, which was so stunning and relaxing. It was a once in a lifetime vacation and I will never forget it.
What do you like to do outside of work or travel?
I love learning about art and history, visiting museums and galleries with my partner or friends or even alone, is one of my favourite things to do. I also enjoy making art, whether it be drawing, painting, crochet, I think creating is such an important thing for the soul. Curling up with a good book or in front of a good movie, particularly after a lovely walk or hike is just something special.
Do you have a favourite place to visit?
There are so many beautiful places, that this is a hard question! My answer would have to be Krakow in Poland. I visited Krakow as part of an Interrailing trip that I took with two of my friends, we visited 7 countries in 3 weeks! But when we got to Krakow we went for a walk and ended up sitting on the wall of a castle and watched the sunset and I will always remember that as one of the best feelings and what made me truly fall in love with travelling.
